Cabo Frio attractions are some of the most fascinating on earth. Fort Sao Mateus:

Dominating the coast of Cabo Frio is one of the great Rio landmarks, the Fort Sao Mateus. Built in 1616 the military architect Francisco Frias.  The fort provides an excellent looking glass into the past as you tour the old hallways and chambers of a once great military fort.  Fort Sao Mateus is one of the most popular attraction Cabo Frio in town.

Beaches:

In the center of Cabo Frio is the Praia do Forte, which is hands down the most popular beach in Cabo.  Definitely one of the more gorgeous beaches on earth, Forte is home to surfing, snorkeling, seashell collecting and all the popular beach activities that you’ve come to love.  To the north of Forte are the beaches of Conchas.  Located about 2.5 Km from the center of town.  Pero’ and Brava are located about 7Km to the north of the center.  To the south are the dunes and the Conqueiral beach.  The natives consider the beaches the “true” attractions Cabo Frio.

Sao Pedro da Aldeia:

Only 17 Km Northwest of Cabo Frio traveling on RJ 106 is the fishing village of Sao Pedro da Aldeia.  The village is a former Jesuit mission station. If you’re a fishing enthusiast, this is the place to be. A fishing experience to please any fisherman awaits in the form of deep sea fishing routes, fishing piers and various beaches to cast off of.  If you have been searching for that trophy fish, this is the village to visit.

Museu Oceanográfico:

Located in the center of town is the Museum of Oceanography.  The museum is home to fascinating displays old ships and fishing tools.  Fish and other sea creatures are on display and never fail to amaze both children and adults alike.
